Sam Darnold appears to be ready to make his return.
The Jets’ rookie quarterback was a full participant in practice Wednesday, indicating he could be ready to play Sunday against the Bills after missing the last three games due to a foot injury.
However, coach Todd Bowles isn’t ready to name the starting quarterback just yet.
“No, not yet,” Bowles told reporters Wednesday.
Darnold has been dealing the hurt foot since Week 9, but practiced on a limited basis all last week leading up to the team’s Week 13 loss to the Titans with veteran Josh McCown under center. Reports suggested Darnold could have played, but the Jets opted to take a cautious approach with the injury.
Darnold, the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s draft, has completed 159 of 289 passes for 1,934 and 11 touchdowns with 14 interceptions in nine games this season.
The Bills (4-8) are slated to host the Jets (3-9) in an AFC East clash at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
