Lamar Miller injury update: Texans RB (ankle) 'trending upward,' has chance to play vs. Jaguars

Lamar Miller could be on the field Sunday.

The 27-year-old running back missed the Texans’ 32-30 loss to the Eagles last weekend with an ankle issue. Miller, however, may only end up missing the one game with the injury, coach Bill O’Brien said Monday.

“I think he’s got a chance (to play Sunday against the Jaguars),” O’Brien said, via the Houston Chronicle. “I don’t know that yet, but I think he probably feels better at this point this week than he did at this point last week. Maybe trending upward is the right way to say it.”

The Texans averaged just 3.3 yards per carry without Miller against Philadelphia.

Miller has rushed for 917 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games this season. He has also added 163 receiving yards and a score.

The Texans will enter their regular-season finale against Jacksonville with a 10-5 record. They’ve already clinched a playoff berth.
